On June 13th, Equidev’s CEO Gulchehra Boboeva and Gender Mainstreaming/Communications Specialist Samariddin Bahriddinov attended the Institutional Sanitation Workshop at the Dushanbe Shumon Hotel. Organized as part of the Swiss WICC Portfolio in Tajikistan, the workshop brought together representatives from various sanitation projects to exchange experiences and discuss best practices in institutional sanitation.
Equidev made significant contributions to the workshop by sharing their extensive knowledge and experience. The event provided an excellent platform for Equidev to present their Decentralized Wastewater Treatment Systems (DEWATS) technology, which offers sustainable and cost-effective sanitation solutions ideal for public institutions in Tajikistan.
The workshop was a success for Equidev, as it not only showcased their innovative approach but also garnered interest from other organizations. Representatives from the Aga Khan Agency for Habitat (AKAH) and the Aga Khan Foundation (AKF) expressed strong interest in partnering with Equidev to scale up DEWATS implementation. This interest signifies a growing recognition of the need for sustainable sanitation solutions in the region and marks a promising step towards enhancing sanitation infrastructure in Tajikistan. The workshop agenda included interactive sessions, group discussions, and practical analyses of challenges and successes in institutional sanitation. Participants identified key elements for improving current projects and explored opportunities for collective action and joint advocacy.
