Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 14th November 2023 – A group of 11 students and 3 teachers from the Construction and Architecture Faculty of the Tajik Technical University have been involved in a study tour to the site of DEWATS (Decentralized Wastewater Treatment System) in the rural hospital #1, Hisor town.

The students were able to see first-hand how the system treats wastewater in an environmentally friendly and sustainable manner. They also learned about the various components of the system, as well as the potential impact of DEWATS in addressing environmental and public health challenges. The students also had the opportunity to engage in discussions with the Equidev engineer and ask questions about the technology and its application in other rural areas of the country.

Overall, the visit provided valuable insights and practical knowledge for the students in the field of environmental engineering and wastewater management.

The study tour was organized in the frame of the “Building Knowledge and Awareness on Sustainable Sanitation Solutions” project financed by the Government of Switzerland and implemented by the International Public Organization “Equidev”.
